Washington D.C. firing near White House Leaves One dead, five severely injured

 

In an ill-fated incident, one person was killed and five others wounded on Thursday night around 10 pm in an indiscriminate firing on the streets of Washington D.C., not far from the White House, the residence of US President Donald Trump, as  police said. 

An alert  issued by the D.C. Police Department says officers are searching  for information on two male suspects in a light colored Nissan sedan armed with an AK style rifle. Local police have confirmed that the accident occurred on Columbia Road in North West, Washington.

Police is trying to know the intention of the shooting and have not apprehended any suspect as of late Thursday as said by Metropolitan Police commander Stuart Emerman. He said that six victims, five adult males and one adult female, were shot. One adult male was killed in the incident. The other five were transported to area hospitals “with various gunshot wounds ranging from noncritical to critical,” he further added.

The local police has reached the place immediately where the firing took place and the area has been completely closed. Police is still hunting for the shooter.

Media sources said the place where the bullets have gone is just 3 kilometers away from the place of residence of US President. Local TV channel Fox-5 reported that 6 people were hit by bullets.
