Dehradun railway station to be closed for three months starting 7th November,Trains to operate from Haridwar

From 7th November, Dehradun railway station will remain closed for three months  for the revamping of the station. During this time most of the trains will operate from Haridwar Junction. Some trains will run from Harrawala station. During this period many works are to be done to make Dehradun station anew including increasing the length in the railway station. The Railway Board has also released the budget along with the permission to block Dehradun from 7th  November to enhance the capacity and increase passenger facilities. For this work, Dehradun station will be completely closed for three months from November 7. The process of changing the track of the station to stop and run long distance trains at Haridwar station has been expedited.

However, the railway has not yet released the schedule of the traffic block. 
Since there is a single rail track between Haridwar-Dehradun, due to this work, it will not be possible to operate rail traffic on the other platforms as well as the main track.

Officials of the Dehradun railway station, told that the work of number five platform is in the final stage. Officials of Moradabad Railway Division have been communicated about this. A schedule of traffic blocks will be released soon from the mandal level.

A total of 15 trains run from Dehradun railway station in a day to different stations across the country. Apart from this, several trains like Chennai, Kochuveli, Indore, Rafti Ganga and Upasana Express are running on a weekly basis.After the number five platform is ready for operation, the number of trains will be increased.
