Earthquake that hits part of north India was felt across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad region early on Thursday morning .The magnitude of the temblor was 5.8 on the Richter scale which rattled the Hindukush region of Afghanistan,according to the IMD (India Meteorological Department). As per the USGY (United States Geological Survey), the epicenter of this tremor that took place at 6:15 AM was 50 km from Taleqan, which is situated in the Hindu Kush region.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damages of properties post quake.
The Hindu Kush Himalayan Mountain range is spread over 3,500 km across eight countries, spanning Afghanistan in the west to Myanmar in the east. An earthquake of this magnitude can cause slight damage to infrastructure still enough to create panic and send people rushing outdoors in fear.
