Viking picks Malta as its first Med homeport for summer cruising 2021

Viking (www.viking.com) announced that it will relaunch Mediterranean cruise with two ships for vaccinated guests operating from Malta beginning this summer.Offered as part of Viking’s Welcome Back collection, the Viking Venus and the Viking Sea will both homeport in capital city of Valletta—a cultural UNESCO World Heritage Site—and sail two different 11-day roundtrip itineraries in the Mediterranean between July and early October.

.The Malta & Adriatic Jewels itinerary will visit Montenegro and Croatia, calling in Kotor, Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Sibenik. The Malta & Greek Isles Discovery itinerary will sail to Greece, calling in Kalamata, Athens, Santorini, Rhodes and Souda Bay, before returning to Valletta.

Delivered in April, the Viking Venus is Viking’s newest ocean ship and will be named in the England on May 17.

With strong demand, Viking will also launch cruises this spring and summer in England, Iceland and Bermuda. Its cruises are open only to full vaccinated adults.

The company said it is keenly working on developing additional itineraries in other destinations.
