Amid the rising coronavirus COVID-19 cases in the country, the Eastern Railway has announced to discontinue 16 trains from May 7(until further notice) due to poor patronization and operational constraints.
In a tweet, Eastern Railway has requested passengers to plan their journey accordingly as these trains will not be available for passengers from the said date and has regretted the Inconvenience.

It may be recalled that in last April, 40 trains were cancelled by Indian Railways due to COVID-19 pandemic and the low passenger load.
The South Central Railway (SCR) has also cancelled 10 trains scheduled to run between April 28 and June 1. These trains ply on the routes such as Mumbai, Nagpur, Secundrabad, Hyderabad.
