Los Angeles Tourism launches campaign to inspire visitors to #StartYourComeback

People’s much-loved holiday destination Los Angeles is starting its comeback, safely reopening museums, indoor dining, theme parks and outdoor live events including spectator sports, with appropriate capacity controls and safety protocols. Now, the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is inspiring lovers of L.A. to start their comeback, whenever they are ready, with the launch of the new advertising campaign.

Los Angeles Tourism has developed new advertising, that presents the concept of L.A. being a movie; exclusively, a comeback story. A double entendre, the comeback story is a nod to the challenges the destination has faced over the past year, while acknowledging the overflowing optimism for the future – with the campaign’s creative aiming to inspire visitors to come back to L.A.

Adam Burke, President & CEO, Los Angeles Tourism says “Our focus groups around the world have taught us that visitors view a trip to Los Angeles as a transformative experience. L.A.’s more than 300 days of healing sunshine, spirit-lifting champion sports teams, inspiring cultural attractions, electric new hotels and restaurants, and endless outdoor experiences are the balm travellers seek”.

The creative will be featured in an IMDb Oscars Sponsorship – the first ever by a Destination Marketing Organization – through May 2.

To help plan a future vacation, Los Angeles Tourism has aggregated more than 70 special offers from hotels, restaurants and more, available at discoverlosangeles.com/comeback. Offers include savings of up to 35 per cent on hotels and a wide range of other perks and deals, good thru June 30, 2021.

Given that consumer sentiment data shows almost three-quarters of American travellers will be more safety-conscious while travelling going forward, Los Angeles Tourism announced an initiative powered by digital health company Sharecare and Forbes Travel Guide, the global authority on hospitality excellence, to verify the health security of all hotels with 50 or more rooms in the City of Los Angeles. By making health security verification a universal standard across this category of hotels, Los Angeles is set to become the first Sharecare VERIFIED™ destination in the U.S. This complete verification process assures guests and travel planners that all L.A. hotels with the distinction have proper safety procedures in place, covering over 360 standards across health and hygiene protocols, cleaning products and procedures, ventilation, physical distancing, the guest experience, and health safety communication with guests and employees.
