Earthquake tremors of 3.5-magnitude felt in #Delhi, adjoining areas, 3rd amid Covid-19 lockdown

Medium-intensity earthquake tremors measuring 3.5-magnitude on the Richter scale were felt in parts of Delhi and surrounding areas on Sunday (May 10) afternoon, the third to hit the region in about a month amid the nationwide coronavirus lockdown. The tremors were felt at around 1:45 pm today at a depth of five kilometres.

According to the National Centre of Seismology (NCS), the earthquake had its epicentre in in Wazirpur, northeast Delhi.

However, there were no reports of any injuries, casualties or damages to properties so far.

Delhi falls under the fourth of the five seismic zones.

Following the earthquake, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tweeted saying “Tremors felt in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s safety.”
