Air India Launches ‘Namaskar Sewa’ To Assist Travelers Till Boarding The Flight At Major Airports

Now Passengers of all categories flying with Air India will avail a meet and greet service called ‘Namaskar Sewa’ starting from 23rd September. As part of Namaskar Sewa, a  dedicated personnel receive travelers at the airport entry and assist them with all the formalities  until the passengers board  the aircraft.

The meet and greet service will be launched keeping in mind senior citizen, first-time travelers, passengers travelling with children or those passengers who are carrying heavy luggage along with them.This service can be availed for a nominal fee of Rs 750 for domestic passengers and Rs 1500 for international fliers. Those who register for Namaskar Sewa prior to their scheduled flight departure will have a enjoyable experience of checking in, screening and boarding the flight.

As of now this sewa is only available to Air India first class passengers. Now with this initiative all categories of passengers will avail it on a pilot basis at New Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport begins this September.As stated by an official,this initiative would be focusing more on international passengers, particularly those in transit, as they have to go from one terminal to another.

Passengers can take the services of a dedicated assistant under the Namaskar Sewa facility by registering for the services through the web link ‘namaskarsewa.in’ .Each  team will consist of up to three personnel to help passengers till boarding the flight. Though the number of personnel will depend on the number of customers or group’s size. The assistant will receive the customers at airport entry gate and take them through all the formalities till the passengers board the aircraft.

Based on travelers’ response to the pilot project at Delhi, Air India’s Namaskar Sewa will be rolled out  at Mumbai,Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru airports where there are sizeable numbers of Air India’s customers for international destinations.

Namaskar Sewa is a welcome move for elderly travelers of economy class, who knowing only regional languages find it upsetting to get past security checkpoints and board international flights.
