World Travel & Tourism Council Join Hands With International Border Management & Technologies Association To promote Safe, Secure And seamless travel Worldwide

Travelers from around the world are now going to experience a hassel-free travel throughout the world, since the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)and the International Border Management & Technologies Association (IBMTA) have come together to promote safe, secure and seamless travel across international borders making best use of new and emerging technology, keeping the border security intact.

WTTC is the global private sector of tourism, while IBMATA is a global non-profit organisation which promotes communication and collaboration between border agencies and the agencies who make technology accessible worldwide.

Speaking on the necessity of the initiative, the Chairman of IBMATA, Tony Smith said, “Inspite of inadequate resources, the border agencies are dealing with more international passengers at their international borders than ever before which further emphasizes the need of making best use of new and emerging technology to facilitate  traveler experience for the vast majority of low risk traffic, maintaining safety and security of borders simultaneously.”

Regarding the partnership of both the organizations, he said, the relationship with WTTC will encourage IBMATA  to develop a healthy  collaboration between the travel industry, border agencies and technology providers which will further facilitate them in delivering more important functions.

With WTTC’s new Seamless Traveller Journey programme, travellers worldwide will experience a seamless, faster and more enjoyable journey all through and they won’t need to produce the same information or passport several times.

Technical support like ‘Biometrics’ will work at every touchpoint of the journey to offer more passenger friendly travelling, along with more secured border services.

Likewise Gloria Guevara – president WTTC said, “One in ten people on the planet today gets employment through tourism and gradually in next 20 years we will witness a twofold increase in the number of travelers which will generate as many as 100 million jobs around the world.

This again makes us more responsible to be prepared for the future by transforming the traveler experience while increasing security by working together and with the administration.”

Further she added, “Our relationship with IBMATA will help us in this direction in promoting the concept of safe and secure travel across international borders and improved passenger experience.”
