Delhi To Host The 7 Wonders of the World

Delhi, the capital city, is to host the 7 Wonders of the World now, as its latest tourist attraction. Made at the cost of Rs 7.5 crore, the notable part of the point is that it will run  solely on the renewable energy. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation has come up with a proposal to install wind and solar power to meet the power demand of the sculptures at the park. It is located near Sarai Kale Khan bus terminal in south-east Delhi.Taj Mahal, Great Pyramid of Giza, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Christ the Redeemer statue of Rio de Janeiro, Rome’s Colosseum and the Statue of Liberty – the miniature models of all these renowned monuments are to be exhibited in the park and people may have the glimpse of it by the second week of February this year.

Another interesting feature of the park is that all the sculptures here have been fabricated with scraps of automobile parts. Alok Kumar, director, horticulture department, SDMC said, “We have already given them a finished look and installed old sodium lights to highlight their features.”

Delhi’s 7 Wonders of the World park has got its inspiration from a similar one at Kota in Rajasthan. Manifesting its eco-friendliness three solar trees have been installed at the park, with the capacity of generating up to 6 kilowatt of power each and a wind turbine is to be installed here soon.

In spite of getting shaped by the scarps of automobiles, the replicas are quite eye-catching and measured between 25 and 30 feet of height, with the exception of  70 feet high  Eiffel Tower. Providing the professional photographers with ample opportunities, a selfie point has also been created for all, to click pictures with the clones.

Visitors to access into the park have to pay a small entry fee, that is to be spent on its maintenance. Further they would have been facilitated with eateries, parking slots and a playing area for children inside the park. Being all set with the replications of World’s 7 Wonders, the park is to be inaugurated in near future.
