United States:At least 25 dead after deadliest tornado rips through Nashville and central Tennessee

At least 25 people were killed, many others injured, buildings were destroyed , tens of thousands of households and businesses left without electricity, when a deadly tornado struck parts of Nashville( the capital of the U.S. state of Tennessee)  and central Tennessee early Tuesday, officials said.

According to officials, the deaths occurred in at least four counties, including Davidson, where Nashville is, and Putnam, Benton and Wilson. At least 18 of the deaths occurred in Putnam County, officials said. Surveyors estimated that the extensive damage was caused by tornado winds of up to 165 mph.

Tennessee is under a state of emergency Wednesday after the deadliest ternado stuck in seven years. “We have had loss of life all across this state,” Gov. Bill Lee, who declared a state of emergency, said. He said that the damage he witnessed was “heartbreaking,” but that he was proud of residents who helped each other in the aftermath.

According to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center, this is the second most deadly tornado event in Tennessee history, Twisters killed 38 people in Tennessee on 22nd March, 1952, and 22 died in a tornado on Feb. 5, 2008, according to federal authorities.

President Donald Trump said he would visit Nashville area on Friday adding that he was working with state officials and that the Federal Emergency Management Agency was on the ground.
