Dubai Is Top Destination With High Footfall By US, UK Tourists In 2019

International online travel platform Expedia Group has announced that USA, UK and France are top visitors to Dubai in 2019. According to Expedia Group data taken from Q3 2019, the UAE remains a popular choice for international travellers and  USA, UK and France are the leading source markets for travel to Dubai.

Highest number of visitors visiting UAE were from the USA, the UK, France, India, China, Ireland, Australia, Germany, Italy, and Brazil. The travel company revealed that there is a significant increase in footfalls from Brazil and Portugal which could be attributed to the Emirates codeshare partnership with LATAM Airlines and direct flights to Porto, both announced earlier this year.”

The data further says, though travellers from the USA, the UK, and France topped the list for overall demand into the country, travellers from China still showed a healthy 50% year on year growth in package demand.

India

According to the data released by Dubai’s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), during first nine months of 2019 over the summer months, 12.08 million international overnight visitors arrived into Dubai. In 2018 alone, the UAE welcomed 2.89 million Indian tourists and it is estimated to grow to 5.29 million by 2024, as reported by Colliers International done in partnership with Arabian Travel Market (ATM).

Another recent study by ECA International put Abu Dhabi and Dubai as two most expensive cities in GCC, both cities now are in the top 50 most expensive locations to live in.

ECA International revealed, Turkmenistan’s capital Ashgabat remains the most expensive city in the world for expats for a second year running.

Tokyo stays second costliest city while followed by three Swiss cities – Zurich, Geneva and Basel – Hong Kong, Bern, Yokohama, Tel Aviv and Nagoya.
