Expo 2020 Dubai : UAE To Celebrate ‘1 Year To Go’ Moment As Global Superstars Mariah Carey, Hussain Al Jassmi To Perform Live

Global superstar Mariah Carey and acclaimed Emirati artist and Expo 2020 Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi will perform live as part of UAE-wide celebrations marking One Year to Go until Expo 2020 Dubai.

On Sunday 20th October from 1700 to 2200, fun-filled and family-friendly events will be held across all seven emirates, with an eye-catching projection on Burj Khalifa at 2020 (8.20pm) as well as the first public appearance of the Expo 2020 Mascots, kickstarting the 12-month countdown to the World’s Greatest Show.

Global superstar Mariah Carey and acclaimed Emirati artist and Expo 2020 Ambassador Hussain Al Jassmi will catch the limelight with their live celebrations in Burj Park, Downtown Dubai with simultaneous festivities taking place at Louvre Abu Dhabi, Al Majaz Waterfront in Sharjah, Ajman Museum, Umm Al Quwain Corniche, Al Qawasim Corniche in Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah Fort.

Every event will feature grassroots music and performing arts, amazing food, graphic art and more – plus live streams of Dubai’s headline acts and the Burj Khalifa countdown.

The five-time Grammy-winner Carey is a singer, songwriter, actress, record producer and entrepreneur who has sold more than 200 million records, making her one of the bestselling musicians of all time. She has written 17 US number one singles, more than any other female songwriter in history, including We Belong Together, Hero and Fantasy.

The famous Sharjah-born Emirati star Al Jassmi is a bestselling Arabic-language artist, with songs including Boshret Kheir and Bawada’ak.

Best known for his humanitarian work, he is visiting refugee camps in the region in a regular basis and was the first Arab artist invited to perform at the Vatican’s annual Christmas charity concert in 2018, where he met with Pope Francis and conveyed the UAE’s values of tolerance between all people and religions.
