Marriott to host recruitment days for Saudi nationals in support to boost Saudisation

In order to strengthen the  localization efforts as a part of growth strategy for Saudi Arabia, Marriott International,the American multinational hospitality giant is going to host dedicated recruitment days for Saudi nationals at the Le Meridien Jeddah and Riyadh Marriott Hotel.

Saudisation remains the group’s foremost priority, and Marriott plans to organise more recruitment drives to further build up its leadership programme Tahseen.

In this effort,the first recruitment day will be held at Le Meridien Jeddah from 7 to 8, October 2019 and the second one will be held at Riyadh Marriott Hotel from 9 to 10 October, 2019.

The initiatives are in line with the company’s expansion plans in the Kingdom where the expected addition of 20 new properties and over 3,500 rooms by end of  2023 could create about 4,000 new jobs. 

This drive plans to employ locals those are looking to enter the industry, as well as nationals those looking for career progression in hospitality sector.

Marriott properties will be looking to employ across diverse departments including purchasing, marketing, front desk, sales, guest services, food & beverage and human resources.

“As part of our growth strategy for the Kingdom, we aim to foster and develop more Saudi nationals across our portfolio and provide them with a platform to be able to contribute to the success of the country’s travel and tourism sector. Our development pipeline in Saudi Arabia is expected to create nearly 4,000 new jobs in the country within the next five years, and as such, we are committed to developing more opportunities for Saudi nationals to join the hospitality industry,” Alex Kyriakidis, president and managing director, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International said.

Saudi Arabia is at present Marriott’s second largest market in the Middle East with a portfolio of 28 properties and over 8,000 rooms across nine brands. More than 50 per cent of the company’s properties expected to open by 2023 will be under its select-service brands, led by Courtyard by Marriott, Four Points by Sheraton and Residence Inn by Marriott. Element Hotels is likely to make its debut in the Kingdom by 2023.
