In the wake of ravaging floods and inclement weather at Patna, Indian flagship carrier Air India has announced on Tuesday that it has waived off all applicable penalties of re-issuance, date change, no-show, and cancellation and refund charges for travel to and from Patna, for both domestic as well as international flights till 3rd of October.
The rain-hit Bihar witnessed severe rainfall in last couple of days causing floods across the states and death toll reportedly mounting over 60 lives. PM Modi discussed the intensity of the situation with the Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Yadav on September 30 and assured to provide all possible assistance.
“#FlyAI: Due to inclement weather at Patna resulting in inconvenience to passengers #Airindia has waived off all applicable penalties of re-issuance, date change, no-show, cancellation and refund charges for travel from/to Patna for both Dom & Int flights for travel upto 3rdOct,19,” Air India announced in a tweet on Tuesday afternoon.
Nitish Kumar had visited the severely flooded areas of the state capital on Sunday and issued needed instructions to the officials to resolve the concern.
Patna is likely to receive more rainfall for the next few days accompanied by thunderstorms.
