As per an official announcement by the company, the leading Cab aggregator Ola has Acqui-hired Pikup.ai – an artificial intelligence (AI) startup from Bengaluru. Acqui-hired is a term stands for acquisition plus hire.
Pikup.ai, co-founded by Inder Singh and Ritwik Saikia, is a startup that uses autonomous technology like AI, computer vision and sensor fusion to provide AI-powered solutions to business.
Additionally, the attempt made by Ola, will bring extensive area expertise aiming to deliver innovations to improve safety and mould consumer experience.
Early this year, the company announced that it intented to set up an advanced technology centre in the USA’s San Francisco Bay area, to target on developing next-generation technologies in mobility like Electric, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles.
The company said that, with adopting deep domain expertise to Ola, this acquihire will also provide innovations that continue to improve safety and transform customer experience.
The company again is quite hopeful about Pikup.ai’s expertise in the segment and the availability of rich data, the application of machine learning and the AI technology will empower the company to explore detailed insights, which will resulted in company’s enhanced performance.
Ola, being founded in 2011 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati with a mission to build mobility for a billion people, stated,
