The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a red caution for Odisha Tuesday as a profound dejection over the Bay of Bengal had escalated into a cyclonic tempest, Titli, and was moving towards the Odisha-Andhra Pradesh drift. “Titli is probably going to heighten advance into an extreme cyclonic tempest amid the following 24 hours. It is probably going to move northwestwards from today and cross Odisha and bordering north Andhra Pradesh drifts among Gopalpur and Kalingapatnam around Thursday,” PTI cited executive of the Meteorological Center in Bhubaneswar, H R Biswas, as saying.
The IMD release said while wind paces would achieve 100 kmph along south Odisha drift, it would stay inside 75 kmph in the north. Titli is focused at around 530 km southeast of Gopalpur in Odisha and 480 km east-southeast of Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
