The Ongoing Kumbh Mela In South India Is The Recent Desired Spot Of Devotees For A Holy-Dip
The ongoing Kumbh Mela at Thiramakudalu Narasipura, in the Southern India has now drawn the attention of lakh of devotees. Started on February 17, it will continue till Feb19. All the devotees are heading towards confluence of rivers Cauvery, Kapila and Spatika Sarovar – Triveni Sangama, where the religeous ceremony is going on. Since 1989 the Kumbh Mela, has been taking place here once in every three years.
Various religious activities like homa, havana and abhishekhas will be performed at the Sangam area and the ceremony will be honoured by more than 60 religious leaders this tome. The Monday evening’s Ganga aarti (worshiping the river Ganga) is the highlighting feature of this ceremony which is observed in the same way as it is held at Varanasi, with all enthusiasm. Devotees will take the holy-dip on all three days of the mela.
Several temples named Biksheshwara, Mulastheneshwara and Agastheswara Gunjanarasimhaswamy have been decorated for the purpose. Enough temporary toilets and bathing ghats have been arranged to ensure devotees’ comfort.
To make the occasion free of any complications, several temporary hospitals have been set up by concerned officers to attend medical emergencies. Likewise the Security department is also well aware of its duties and is ready to address any untoward incidents.This time more than three lakh devotees are being expected to take the holy-dip.
