Several people injured, including two critically, in a shooting at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, a United States Navy shipyard in Hawaii, local media reported on Wednesday.
Reports of the shooting came in around 2:30 p.m. local time.
Local news reported the shooter had killed himself.
Hawaii News Now said a number of civilians were among the gunshot victims.
Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard is one of just four shipyards operated by the United States Navy. The base, on the southern shore of Oahu, hosts both the Air Force and Navy.
The episode happened three days before the 78th anniversary of the Japanese sneak attack on the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, which President Franklin D. Roosevelt called a “date which will live in infamy.”
