Khurshid Ahmed Ganai, the advisor to the Governor, Jammu & Kashmir, has enthusiastically welcome the acknowledgement of the Gujarat Tourism Minister, Jawahar Chavda and the travel agents of Mumbai and its surrounding cities, reminding their commitment to the promotion of tourism in Kashmir which they have been doing for the last many decades.A few days back Gujarat Cabinet Tourism Minister Jawahar Chavda told in a statement, “I love Kashmir. It is a wonderful place and truly a paradise on earth. I wonder why Indian people go abroad to places like Europe, Canada, and Australia when India has an even more marvelous and matchless place like Kashmir.
I would advise my Indian people that they should visit Kashmir and enjoy its illimitable beauty and splendor.”
Appreciating this heart-warming and encouraging comment, Ganai, said that Jammu & Kashmir is safe for tourists and hoped that the untoward and unfortunate incidents which take place in Kashmir occasionally will not hinder the smooth arrival of tourists as the common people here are very much hospitable. Ganai is also in-charge of the state tourism department.
Through an official spokesperson, Ganai informed that the state tourism department is trying hard to intensify promotional activities with the hope to boost the domestic as well as international tourism in the state.
Again he is hopeful about the awaited inauguration of the Tulip Garden at Srinagar, perhaps in the second week of April which will attract the first batch of tourists to Kashmir and will kick-start the tourist season with a good indication.
The advisor also stressed the relevance of countering the negative perceptions created by some sections of media through the effort of non-state stakeholders of Tourism industry and sector in Jammu and Kashmir.
However we can conclude with the certainty that Kashmir is the safest city in the country, unless you come looking for trouble. In fact Kashmir is much safer than major Indian cities like Delhi or Mumbai.
