Delhi Police Arrested the Accused for Selling Fake Air-Tickets Worth Rs 1 Crore

Sandeep Kumar Jha, 30, was arrested from New Delhi on tuesday, for allegedly cheating several air travelers by providing them fake air tickets worth over Rs 1 crore, said the police. Being a MBA degree holder, he was working as a travel agent in the capital city.

Belongs to the north-east Delhi’s Khajuri Khas, Sandeep was a ”proclaimed offender”.
He used to work for a travel agency in Connaught Place and was involved in selling fake airline tickets and duped many persons in various parts of the country.

The Additional Police Commissioner (crime), Rajiv Ranjan said, the police was able to arrest the travel agent, with the help of a secret informer, from Delhi’s Sun Light Colony who confessed his crime during investigation.

When investigated, Sandeep confessed that he had managed to convince the proprietor of the travel agency using his marketing skills and he used to trap customers by assuring them that he could arrange for cheaper air tickets as compared to the prevailing market rates.

Though within a few days of his work he was able to win over everyone’s trust, but soon started cheating the firm and customers by issuing fake air tickets. He was wanted in several cheating cases in the cities like Jaipur, Pune and Puducherry.
