In a bid to provide hassle-free services at Bhubaneswar airport, the Airport Authority of India (AAI) has exempted the entry fee and the vehicle parking charge at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA). The air passengers are happy for the news as they will not pay any charges whether approaching or exiting or parking their vehicles at the BPIA any more.
The state government along with the consent of AAI, in order to offer a hassle-free service, has enforced the benefit at the BPIA on 10th of December.
Earlier there was a free time limit of five minutes and if crossed, the passengers would have to pay for it. But according to the new policy, there would be no time limit system for parking or entry of vehicles at the BPIA, as said by Jayant Sinha, Minister of State for Civil Aviation.
Replying to the BJD MP Prasanna Acharya, Mr. Shinha said, “ Recently, on 10th of December, the AAI has issued a new vehicle parking policy for the Bhubaneswar airport. The provision of free time limit has been withdrawn as per the new policy. All the vehicles, other than the commercial ones, using the pick-up/drop lanes will not be charged any entry/parking/access fee.”
The parking area of the Biju Patnaik International Airport has enough space for the passengers and can accommodate 364 lots car, 5 buses and 46 taxis.
