On the eve of World Tourism Day Odisha organised a walk and food festival on 27 September 2018 from Kalinga stadium to Utkal mandap. The festival was inaugarated by tourism minister Ashok Chandra Panda. About thousand people including students, youth leaders,hotel representatives,senior citizens etc participated in the walk.
Several cultural programmes like Sambalpuri dance, tribal dance,Odissi etc was performed alongside the walk to keep the participants amused. The beginning of the walk was a gesture of curtain raiser of ensuing World Cup Hockey in Odisha .
