To satiate your need of adrenaline-filled activities, SeaWorld San Diego is coming up with its latest attraction – the tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster in California ! Construction work regarding this has already begun and is expected to be completely ready by 2020.
The dive coaster will find its place right beside the Journey to Atlantis ride in the southeast corner of the park. For now, the site preparation to install the ride’s base and utilities is going on.
Besides being California’s tallest, fastest and longest dive coaster a new special feature will also be added to the amusement ride this time. It is going to be the state’s first floorless ride !
The rollercoaster is designed to climb upto 153 feet. Riders, with their feet dangling in the air, will have a halt on a 45-degree angle at the top of the ride before plunging down a 143-foot facedown vertical drop, with a speed of more than 60 miles per hour. Each of its floorless ride cars will accommodate 18 riders in three, six-person rows.
On its nearly 2,500 feet long track visitors will experience heart-pounding inversions, a barrel roll and Immelmann loop, a hammerhead turn and a flat spin. All these will be pop up just within 2 minutes of duration.
The credit of the ride’s construction design goes to Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland.
