Being inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s jungle adventure, the Union Tourism Ministry has come up with the decision of making ‘wildlife’ as its new theme under the Incredible India campaign for the next two months.
The Discovery network channels is going to air the show, ‘Man vs Wild’, on 12th August 2019, which can be viewed in more than 180 countries across the world.
Speaking on this, the Union Tourism Minister Prahlad Patel said, “There is no bigger icon for India than the prime minister, be it wildlife or tourism or anything else. His episode is to be shown on Discovery, and we have decided to make it (wildlife) our theme for Incredible India for the next two months.”
Targeting the high-end market, the Indian Tourism Ministry launched the international campaign of Incredible India in the year 2002 with an aim of turning the world’s spotlight on the country’s tourism.
The broadcasting channel earlier stated that the show will be a “frank and freewheeling journey” which will throw light on wildlife conservation. The special episode will be hoasted by survivalist and adventurer Bear Grylls and it is shot in Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand.
Sharing his experience of shooting with PM Narendra Modi, Bear Grylls has revealed that, when he offered Modi an improvised version of a spear as a safeguard against potential attack by a tiger, Modi replied to him, “My upbringing does not allow me to take a life. But, I will hold it (the spear) since you insist.” Grylls also said that PM Modi was very clam all through their journey in the Jim Corbett National park.
