The Much Awaited 66th National Film Awards Has Been Announced : Here’s The Mention Of The Awardees

The much-awaited 66th National Film Awards has finally been announced on Friday at Delhi. With a well accomplished jury, the natoin met the winners of 31 film categories and 23 non-feature films categories of this year.

Among the winners, Uri: The Surgical Strike and Andhadhun have won the best film category and its actors Vicky Kaushal Ayushmann Khurrana have deservingly won the Best Actor Award for their performances. And the best actress award went to Keerthy Suresh  for her flawless efficiency in the Telugu film, Mahanati. Adding to it, Surekha Sikri a veteran of Hindi theatre has bagged Best Supporting Actor Award for her incredible show in Badhaai Ho. In the music field, Arijit Singh has gained the Best Singer Award for ‘Binte Dil’ song from Padmaavat.

Each year the National Film Awards winners’ names are revealed in April and its presentation ceremony takes place on May 3 usually, but this year on account of the Lok Sabha polls, it was delayed.

* Best Male Playback Singer award went to Arijit Singh for Binte Dil from Padmaavat
* Award for Best book on cinema – Malayalam Book Mano Prarthana Pulley; In A Cult Of Their Own gets Special Mention
* Award for Best Film Critic – Blase Johnny (Malayalam), Ananth Vijay (Hindi)
* Award for Best Film on Family Values – Chalo Jeetey Hai
* Award for Best Short Fiction Film – Kasab
* Award for Social Justice Film – Why Me, Ekant
* Award for Best Investigation Film – Amoli
* Award for Best Sports Film: Swimming Through The Darkness
* Award for Best Educational Film – Sarala Virala
* Award for Best Film on Social Issue -Talate Kunji
* Award for Best Environmental Film – The World’s Most Famous Tiger
* Award for Best Promotional Film – Rediscovering Jahannum
* Award for Best Film on Science and Technology  GD Naidu -The Edison of India
* Best Arts and Cultural Film award went to – Munkar
* Best Debut Non-Feature Film of a Director went to – Feluda
* Best Non-Feature Film award went to – Sunrise, The Secret Life of Frogs

Actors like Sruthi Hariharan, Chandrachud Rai, Josy Joseph, Savitri have got special mention for their excellent performances.

* Recipient of Nargis Dutt Award for National Integration – Ondalla Eradalla
* Award for the category of Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment went to -Badhaai Ho
