The Global Passenger traffic data for 2018

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) announced global passenger traffic data for August 2018 showing a rise in demand by 6.4% which was measured in total revenue passenger kilometers or (RPKs). This was slightly more than the 6.1% annual increase in July. The August capacity increased by 5.5%, whereas the load factor rose from 0.7% percentage point to 85.3% .It was the highest since 1990 for any month.

Alexandre de Juniac, the director general and CEO Of IATA expressed his excitement saying that “The industry experienced continued strong traffic growth in August, putting the cap on a very good peak travel season. The all-time record load factor reflects that airlines are
maximizing the efficiency of their assets at a time of rising fuel prices and other costs that are limiting the opportunities for low fare stimulation,”
As per in India, it achieved its 48th consecutive month of double-digit traffic growth as demand hiked up to 22.6%. And as per reports Traffic continues to be stimulated by increases in the number of domestic routes served.
