World’s most coveted dinner destination is now open in the southern coast of Norway. Why is it the most coveted ? Because it is Europe’s first underwater restaurant. Despite only having its soft opening on Wednesday, it has more than 7,000 reservations now ! But for the paying guests it will open by April. For now the restaurant is only capable of serving 40 guests at a time. The construction work is still on and to be fully completed, it may take months. According to the restaurant’s website, the earliest reservations available for two guests will be in the coming August.
The restaurant’s menu includes seasonal, local food and fresh seafood delicacies to allure its guests. But the fact is that its guests are more attracted to its ‘Under-water’ concept than its mouth-watering du jour.
The structure is designed by Snoehetta architecture firm. , The creator of the firm, Kjetil Traedal Thorsen told, “The main attraction of the place is the action of moving from above water to underwater through the building. While dinning, what the guests see through the big window exposes, not any man-made aquarium but an absolutely real sea background.”
This sperm whale-shaped restaurant is submerged underwater, more than half, offering its guests a never- before, immersive experience in Norwegian waters. The diners will encounter the uppermost floor first while entering the inn and it is featured with a lobby and a cloakroom. The middle level houses a champagne bar and the main dinning space is located at the lowest floor.
The closest airport to the spot is just an hour drive away. Apart from this some other things about the restaurant which the visitors must get acquainted with are :
* Their travel plan to this place should be a overnight stay rather than for few hours only.
* Its 18-course menu, with drinks, will charge you $430 (3,700 krone) per person.
* Luckily, the long waiting list will give you time to save up for a meal.
This underwater restaurant is not only famed as the first of its kind in Europe, but it’s the largest in the world as well. The world has got similar destinations mainly in the Maldives and Indian Ocean, where diners can submerge themselves and relish fresh seafood among the fish.
