Constructed at a cost of Rs 2,989 crore, the 182-metre sculpture with its prodigious architectural, justifies the amount spent on it.The statue is the replica of the yesteryear’s freedom fighter Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Further the Vice President, said, “There is only a small part of Patel’s role and contributions in the freedom fight was recorced. This Statue of Unity is a strong reminder of the vision, courage, capabilities and contributions of Sardar Patel in the making of modern India.”
