Over five lakh Indian H-1B visa holders and those who have applied for it, can now breathe a sigh of relief as US president Donald Trump has announced changes to the programme to facilitate the most skilled people to pursue career in US.
The H1-B visa is for the US organizations to hire skilled workers from overseas and mostly Indian IT firms and IT experts have been the biggest recipient of it.
Adding more surety, this time the new methodology will bring both “simplicity and certainty” to the proceedings and lead to a more direct path to citizenship, said Trump.
“We are interested in encouraging talented and highly skilled people to seek career options in the US,” he added.
Last month, the Trump administration, proposed real changes to the H-1B application process. According to the new changes, whichever organizations at US are intending to grant the popular work visa to the most talented and highest paid foreign workers, are expected to enroll their petitions electronically in advance.
