Winter-storm ‘Gia’ set to hit U.S.; North Carolina to Virginia to get influenced

A strong winter storm, dubbed as “Gia” by The Weather Channel, is expected to clobber parts of the U.S. this weekend with snow and ice. Heavy snow is expected along 1,500-mile-long way that extends from the Midwest toward the East Coast — affecting a huge number of individuals.

Being highly altered by the climate of Canada which is located directly next to the Poles, U.S. has a total of six time-zones and four annual seasons. Hence it is not just a vast country on geographical account but  also seasonally variant. And snow storms here are quite usual in winters.  Recently the country has overcome a massive one on December 9.

Currently “Gia” seems to affect West U.S. starting from the Rocky Mountains to Atlantic coast in the East which incorporates states from North Carolina to Virginia. Cities like Denver, Kansas, St. Louis, St. Cincinnati, Pittsburg and Washington D.C. are going to encounter the blizzard.

Quite naturally travel is going to be immensely affected with the glossy conditions on road. People are cautioned against much outdoor activities such as travel during the stormy days by the authorities. Air passengers are cancelling their tickets and airlines also do not claiming the cancellation fees, considering the Winter Storm Gia.
