The Nepalese spiritual Guru who was believed by his followers as the reincarnation of Buddha,is under investigation over the missing of some devotees, police briefed on Monday.
Ram Bahadur Bomjan, dubbed “Buddha Boy”,who became a famed character in 2005 after his followers whispered how he could meditate unmoving for months without having water, food or sleep in Nepal’s jungles.
The 28-year-old guru has a spiritual following.The spiritual guru has been charged of physically and sexually assaulting some of his followers.
Special police investigations has been started by Nepal police after it was alleged that family of the four of the Bomjan’s devotees went missing from his ashrams.Four separate complaints have been registered in different districts regarding this allegation.
Briefing to press a spokesman of Nepal’s Central InvestigationBureau, Uma Prasad Chaturbedi said “The police have started investigating these complaints against Bomjan.As the investigation is in initial stage,so not possible to share many details.”
Even though Bomjan has been persistently accused of abusing in acutely spiritual Nepal, still he has thousands of worshippers waiting in queue for long days to glimpse his so-called miracles of meditation deep in the jungle.
An 18-year-old nun also accused the self-styled guru of raping her at one of his ashrams during September last year.Many more cases have been lodged against this spiritual guru allege assault.
The Bodhi Shrawan Dharma Sangha, an organisation associated with the guru, recently condemned the fresh allegations made by a local website, Setopati.com, saying it as baseless.The portal published reports featured the cases of missing, sexual assault and violence in Bomjan’s ashrams.
