Amalgamation of Modernity with that of Ancient Culture, is what the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2019, to Depict This Time

The Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2019, starting January 15, in Uttar Pradesh is going to be a  big occasion expecting 12 crore visitors from around the world. Rs 2,900 crore have been spent for the arrangements of the event. This time the vicinity of the Kumbh Mela has almost doubled. Previously, the Kumbh Mela area was confined to 15-20 km which is now  spread over an area of 45 km.

Kumbh Mela 2019 will be a impressive sacred event in which millions of crowd will assemble from around the world at the holy convergence of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati.

Besides all these, for the first time  khumbh mela is technically more sound than the previous years  since it incorporates a digital platform.

As stated by the Special Secretary to urban development department of Uttar Pradesh, Sanjay Kumar Khanna, “It is the first high- tech Kumbh, connected on the digital platform, from security systems and administration, to visitor information, assistance and much more.”

A month prior to the event, representatives from around 71 countries studied the ground of Prayagraj since 10 lakh foreign footfalls are expected at the mega event this time.

To make it more convenient for the tourists, the public sanitation facilities are increased from 34,000 to1,22,000. As said by Mr. Khanna, “At the Kumbh this year, sanitation and security are our absolute priorities.” The upcoming Mela is going to offer a smooth and tourist friendly experience to its visitors.

Excepting all, for the first time in the region, around 20,000 premium tent accommodation facilities have also been created in the tent city, by the government . All the hotels and the local homestays will also contribute to the hospitality of the arrived visitors.

Being a high profiled Mela, it can’t be conducted without a PPP ( Public Private Partnership )model. Along with Government, the local tour operators and travel agents have also participated in its promotional programme.

Concerning over the security of the huge gathering, government will engage 20,000 cops, CCTV cameras along with various civil supporting staffs to ensure the safety of the visitors.

Allahabad airport has also gone through a massive makeover recently with a new terminal to escort the arrivals. The airport has also adopted cutting edges like mobile ATMs, aerial security, road widening and other modernizations to offer a quality service  to the Kumbh visitors. Prayagraj is also well connected with major Indian cities like Bengaluru, Indore, Nagpur, Patna, etc. Tourists can also enjoy helicopter rides, as a new heliport is being set up here in the city.

“Though the event of Kumbh mela is celebrated at four different regions in the country,  the one that held at Prayagraj is acclaimed as a subject of attraction and curiosity, all across world. This has been recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO,” said the Minister Mr. Khanna, while detailing the key features of Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2019. The hard work behind the project is of the Mela Adhikari, Vijay Kiran Anand, who has been working on it since three months.

30 thematic gates, over 200 quality cultural programmes , wil be arranged here at the mela which are going to represent India’s rich cultural heritage. To allure the guests, laser shows on cultural topics, food court, vending zone, exhibitions have also been proposed. ‘Kala Gram’ and ‘Sanskriti Gram’ are among the prime attractions which will display Indian culture. Apart from this, the ‘Sahi Snan’ area will also be a photographer’s delight.

Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has joined hands with the Government of Uttar Pradesh in promoting the unique event of ‘Prayagraj Kumbh Mela 2019.’ Every thing is ready, and fingers are crossed to make it a memorable event of the year.
