Chile Voted Best for Adventure Tourism for the Third time in a row

Chile, a South American country, has been acknowledged for being world’s best  adventure tourism destination at the World Travel Awards, held at Lisbon in Portugal, last month. With its wide verity of touristic adventure activities, the country has been conferred with the title for the third consecutive year. Began in 1993, the award is to recognize excellence in all segments of the tourism industry and are very highly reputed.

Being a long, narrow country stretching along South America’s western edge, with more than 6,000km of Pacific Ocean coastline, Chile, is well chosen to be an ideal place for adventure enthusiasts. Surfing, Scuba diving, Kayaking and Kitesurffing  along with its soothing climate and temperate water, all these contribute to its adventure tourism profoundly.

Chile, encompasses countless tourists’ interests like, stargazing in the driest desert in the world, millennial glaciers in the southernmost part of the planet, fascinating forests, and beautiful lakes at the foot of massive volcanoes. It has islands full of legends, winemaking traditions, great challenges to be overcome, and the modern and approachable city of Santiago.

There are over 2000 glaciers in Chile, out of which many are still unexplored. Some of them are even possibly encountered from the capital city of Santiago by walk only.

Iquiqueis, one of its cities, located between the Atacama Desert and the Pacific Ocean, is the perfect place for the people who love paragliding.
