This Actress in an Attempt to Raise Awareness did a Photoshoot at Bengaluru’s Toxic Bellandur Lake

India is a country where pollution is a major concern and frequently it runs unchecked due to the absence of any stringent regulation or sufficient measures set up to counter it. The declining quality of air and water has raised the risk factor in major urban areas of the country.

As known, air and water pollutions can affect the eco system and there by influence the tourism industry as well. It can make the daily life hazardous, results in natural habitat loss, raises pressure on endangered species and  can bring threats to the forest life also.

The tourism sector of India is contributing 6.88 per cent to the country’s total GDP and as statistics goes, the industry generated over US$ 200 billion in 2016 and 2017. Keeping this in mind, it becomes highly essential to aware the people about this alarming issue.

Who else would do it better other than the social media ? More often it reaches people through newspapers, television, hoardings and sometimes photoshoots even. Getting people to think and worry about various social and environmental issues is significant for raising public support and assuring meaningful changes.

 

Here in Bengaluru, with such an attempt, South-Indian actress Rashmika Mandanna did an underwater photoshoot at Bellandur lake to raise awareness about water pollution especially the frothing, foaming and on fire Bellandur lake in Bengaluru.The shoot was directed by Sanmathi D. Prasad.

The lake is extremely polluted as sewage, chemical effluents and construction debris are being dumped into it even today. The actress explained that she had no idea about the pollution, until she actually visited the lake, and then saw the gravity of the situation.

Talking about the picture, that appears to show her underwater in Bengaluru’s toxic Bellandur lake, the actress has disclosed that the picture has actually taken in a friend’s swimming pool. As per Rashmika, the image was edited to a dramatic look. She claimed that the photoshoot aimed to raise awareness about water pollution.
