Embassy Gardens opened the world’s first-ever floating and transparent swimming pool in London. Suspended at a height of 115 ft above the street ,the 82-ft long masterpiece named ‘Sky Pool’ has captured the curiosity of the Internet because of its unique placement and design. The area of the pool can hold 50 tonnes of water and also features a rooftop bar and spa for its exclusive members. The pool is stretched between the 10th floors of two buildings, in the Nine Elms neighbourhood in south-west London, which is next to the US Embassy. What is more interesting that the pool offers spectacular views of the House of Parliament and London Eye. The floating pool is a summertime amusement for the people of London, though, as of now access to the pool is limited to the exclusive Eg. Le Club member of the Embassy Gardens.
‘Sky Pool’ is built by structural engineer Eckersley O’Callaghan, who is of the view that the structure would give the swimmers a feeling of flying while taking a dip in the crystal clear water of the pool.
As per Embassy Gardens their post, 148000 litre of water allows swimmers to float 35 m in the air between two residential buildings.
Embassy Gardens’ website reveals that the idea of this pool was born in 2013. It further added that when they thought about the process, the idea that the pool needs to be somewhat transparent to allow swimmers see the ground, originated. After a series of technical discussions and drawings, the dimensions of the pool were decided.
