COVID-19 Testing Facilities To Be Availed at Chicago Airports Now

O’Hare International and Midway – two major airports of Chicago are now adding on-site COVID-19 testing facilities, unlike New York, by next month.

Travellers will be facilitated with both the rapid test and the PCR tests inside the airport itself.

The Chicago Tribune has confirmed that, medical providers have started availing proposals for both drive-up and walk-in facilities at the airports and the authorities are taking both the things into consideration.

This testing facilities will surely be advantageous for the travelers who are heading to destinations that ask for negative coronavirus tests before you can enter the country.

Moreover these tests will be conducted on the basis of fixing a prior appointment with the airport authorities. According to Amber Ritter, chief commercial officer at the Department of Aviation, ‘these tests will only be meant for the employees and travelers, who will be able to make that appointment, even though hopefully they’re not ill.’

On the other hand travellers have been heard of complaining that it’s not easy to get an appointment if you’re asymptomatic.

Since O’Hare is counted as one of the world’s busiest airports, the authorities have arranged a drive-up testing site in a nearby parking lot on the northeast side of the airport, and a pre-security walk-up site which can be easily accessible by foot from the terminals, the news release said.

At the Midway Airport, there will be a community-based testing site at a parking lot on Tuesday and the Aviation Department is planning to add a walk-up site within the terminal shortly.
