Caribbean Island Anguilla Now Free From COVID-19 : WHO

The island of Anguilla has now officially been declared by World Health Organisation as “COVID-19” free.

The World Health Organization has categorized the Caribbean island as having “no cases,” an improvement from a previous designation of “sporadic cases” by the global body.

Though, Anguilla’s borders remain closed to international traffic through June 30.

And the island has implemented a series of protocols for residents, which includes staying home if unwell, hand and respiratory hygiene and maintaining a physical distance of at least three feet from other people, mostly those with apparent respiratory symptoms.

As said by Anguilla Tourist Board “This is an important milestone and a major achievement for Anguilla.”

The Government of Anguilla also expressed their sincere appreciation and congratulation to the people of Anguilla for this outstanding achievement and appealed for their continued cooperation moving forward.

However, the island has not given an indication of when it might consider reopening its borders for travellers.
