Coronavirus Updates: India’s tally tops 11,000 with death toll at 380, global death toll reached over 1.25 million

With 1,076 cases in the last 24 hours, the number of coronavirus cases in India has reached 11,439, including 380 fatalities, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Out of this total number of cases, at least 1,306 have been cured. The number of active cases due to COVID-19 at present stands at 9,756. The total number of cases include 76 foreign nationals.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state with 2,687 cases and 178 deaths, followed by Madhya Pradesh which has reported 50 deaths due to COVID-19.

Delhi and Gujarat have reported 30 and 28 deaths while Telangana has reported 17 fatalities. At least 12 deaths each have been recorded in Punjab and Tamil Nadu. Karnataka and West Bengal have reported 10 and seven cases respectively.

Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have reported 10 and five deaths. Rajasthan, Kerela, and Haryana have reported three deaths each. At least four deaths have been reported in Jammu and Kashmir.

Two fatalities have been reported in Jharkhand, while one each death were reported from Assam, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, and Odisha.

At the moment, the covid-19 spreads across 213 countries with the global death toll surpassed 1.25 million with over 1,970,000 million confirmed cases, according to Johns Hopkins University (JHU).

In United States itself, over 25,500 deaths have been reported and total cases have surpassed 600,000, meaning that the U.S. has the largest number of both coronavirus fatalities and infections up to now.
