Wizz Air, the Hungarian low-cost airline has signed deal with its partner Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company to establish Wizz Air Abu Dhabi.
The low-cost carrier is set to launch its operations at Abu Dhabi International Airport during the autumn.
This is of course a major milestone in launching of the new carrier, a new Emirati low-cost airline based in the capital of United Arab Emirates.
With this development, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi’s recruitment activities now set to begin in the coming months.The agreement will generate new job openingS, enhance the economy and draw more visitors to explore Abu Dhabi.
József Váradi, chief executive of Wizz Air Holdings, said: “Wizz Air’s mission feeds into Abu Dhabi’s diversified economic strategy as we aim to stimulate traffic by creating demand to the benefit of growing Abu Dhabi’s touristic and economic diversity.
We look forward to welcoming passengers on board our young, green and ultra-efficient fleet,he added.
As said by chief executive of ADDH, Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, tourism is a high priority in Abu Dhabi’s development approach. Significant investment is going not only into our airports but also to the tourist infrastructure, that includes hotels, resorts and cultural attractions.
The acting undersecretary at Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi, Saood Al Hosani said, the launch of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi is very much welcomed by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi. The low-cost airline operating from Abu Dhabi International Airport will certainly allow more visitors to travel here to experience for themselves what their exceptional destination has to offer.
As the preparations for the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates in 2021 is moving on full swing, he was confident that Wizz Air Abu Dhabi along with other airlines will all assist to boost the local economy through the sustained growth of the tourism and travel sector.
