As per the health officials confirmation, the number of coronavirus deaths in the U.S. rose to nine on Tuesday. All these deaths occurred in Washington state.
During last 24 hours, about 40 people have been reported dead due to coronavirus outside of China, where as during the same period in mainland china,more than the 31 new deaths have been reported. This happened for the first time since the virus started spreading that deaths in China didn’t outnumber those in the rest of the world. S o far, at least 3,100 people have died in total, including nine in Washington state.
As of Tuesday morning, there were above 100 cases in 15 states, with New Hampshire and Georgia being the latest ones to join the battle against the virus. The New Hampshire Department of Health announced the state’s second presumptive coronavirus case on Tuesday. Officials in California also announced three new coronavirus cases on Tuesday.
As the pressure mounts on countries to respond forcefully to the spread of the coronavirus, the United States announced an emergency interest rate cut on Tuesday, signaling concern that business across the globe will slow as the number of cases and deaths increase.
On Tuesday, The Federal Reserve announced the decades biggest interest-rate cut to stave off any disruption to the American economy. The Trum administration has asked Congress for $2.5 billion to combat the virus — a figure that could triple.
As WHO announced new estimates suggesting the disease was far more lethal overall than earlier suspected — although also less transmissible — schools and hospitals across the United States stepped up preparations for a potential pandemic. Both the Trump administration and the World Health Organization continue to say it’s a manageable threat.
Globally, COVID-19 outbreak in South Korea, Italy, Iran and Japan have continued growing fast. The WHO, on Tuesday night announced that more than 90,000 people worldwide have been diagnosed with the disease.
