The world’s tallest statute, the 182-meter tall Statue of Unity in Gujarat has been found a place in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s ‘8 Wonders of SCO’ list, said by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday.
Taking to Twitter handle, Jaishankar appreciated the efforts of SCO towards promoting tourism among member nations. He also asserted that the inclusion of ‘Statue of Unity’ in the list of wonders will definitely serve as an inspiration.
The ‘Statue of Unity’ is a monumental tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, inaugurated in October 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of Patel’s 143rd birth anniversary.
