Chief minister of Manipur N Biren Singh on Friday said his government is planning to start off a project under which MLA’s of the state would develop a tourist spot in their own constituencies to attract tourists.
Singh stated this during the Manipur Start Up Conclave, 2019 at City Convention Centre in Imphal. He said that the future of the state lies in its tourism sector and Manipur has a lot to offer in terms of tourism.The state has witnessed a sharp increase in the flow of foreign tourists since 2017.The influx of foreign tourists is increasing significantly from 500-600 per year during 2014-15 to above 1000 tourists every month since 2017 onwards, the CM added.
