Good news for rail passengers as travelling will become more comfortable in some selected trains hereafter. Now passengers can enjoy train journeys by watching onboard movies of their choice. In oreder to boost up passenger experience, Indian Railways has recently introduced ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility in some select trains.
According to details shared by Railway Ministry, the East Central Railway zone has introduced ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility in select trains.
At the moment, the cost-free facility is accessible for passengers in Patna Rajdhani Express and Sampoorna Kranti Express. Besides these two, the ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility will soon commence in six more trains. As per this features, passengers can now watch movies and programs by streaming on their devices.
The ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility is available to stream on Vuliv player and can be downloaded from Google Play and Apple app store. The WiFi based media server can connect up to max. 90 persons at a time for media streaming in each coach. The service provides over 12,000 programs and over 7,000 movies for passengers to opt from.There is also a special section for kids as well as a special section on devotional videos available.
This passenger-friendly initiative has been started by Danapur Division of East Central Railway zone. More than 500 hours of content is available in the local media server which provides un-interrupted movies and programs without any internet connection locally. To avail the ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility on board,passengers do not have to pay or use own data pack for service.
As many as 220 coaches of eight pair of long-distance trains will support the ‘Entertainment on demand’ facility. Besides Patna Rajdhani and Sampoorna Kranti Express, this service will soon be available in train number 13237/38 Patna Kota Express, train number 13239/40 Patna Kota Express, Suvidha Express, Howrah Jan Shatabdi Express, Humsafar Express and Ranchi Jan Shatabdi Express.
