Rajasthan government will soon going to bring an attractive package to woo filmmakers in the state which will be part of the new Tourism Policy of the government .
This was announced by Govind Singh Dotasara, minister of state for tourism, Rajasthan on Sunday when speaking as the chief guest at the PHDCCI Film Tourism Festival at Hotel Clarks, Amer.
This tourism festival was organised in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan.
While the processing charges have nearly been waived off, new incentive package will also be announced in the new policy, minister said.
The procedure of taking permissions for film shooting will also be further simplified.
For films which has its major part shot in the State, the state government will also consider giving subsidy to those.
The policy which includes setting up of a film city, which has been long pending in Rajasthan. He said there is no better place than Rajasthan in the country for shooting films and has the best of locations.
In his keynote address, the well-known film director, Ramesh Sippy said that Rajasthan is a self-promoted destination and with proper implementation of inputs and suggestions, Rajasthan could be a highly sought after film shooting destination.
Jayshree Periwal, the Chairperson of PHDCCI-Rajasthan said that film tourism is an key ingredient which must be incorporated in the marketing strategy of every tourism department.
