Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) was awarded the National National Project Excellence Award in New Delhi for
the successful completion and commencement of passenger services in the 45km
phase-1 project.
The award was given at the PMA-India summit on Tuesday.
Arvind Kumar Rai, chief general
manager (underground), received the award on behalf of CMRL from Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog.
CMRL implemented the project after
facing a number of challenges during the construction phase, introducing many
engineering innovations and practices and ensuring public safety.
