A Spanish passenger ferry loaded with nearly 400 people along with their vehicles has promptly been evacuated after getting aground in a Costa Blanca port.
The incident took place on last Friday, was followed by a dramatic whole-night rescue operation by the coast guards and other emergency services. The ship was on its fun voyage, carrying holidaymakers from Majorca and Ibiza to Denia.
The Pinar del Rio ship of Balearia fleet, ran aground near Benidorm in southeastern Spain, while it was trying to dock in the port.
However with the prompt action by the crew and Spanish coast guards all were rescued unhurt and shifted to other ships and nearby cities as per the requirements. With this the company also was claiming of no oil spill in the harbour keeping the water body in tact.
There were 393 passengers and 70 vehicles on board while the collision occurred at 11.30 in night, reported the company.
This is not Pinar del Rio’s first time, in fact in last June, it also ran aground off San Antonio in Ibiza, with no major injuries reported.
After saving the human lives as well as the commodities, it’s now the ship’s turn to get back into the track for which divers are working on.
