A moderate level earthquake of magnitude 4.2 hit parts of Kutch district in Gujarat on Monday afternoon. According to the Gandhinagar-based Institute of Seismological Research, the earthquake was reported at around 2.43 pm with its epicenter recorded in west of Bhachau city in Kutch district.
The earthquake tremors were felt in many villages around Bhachau and the people rushed out of their homes in fear. No loss of life or damage to property has been reported as said by a district administration official.
