In a bizarre incident at Indonesia, an ‘Insta-famous’ couple from the Czech Republic had to apologize since one of their improper activities hurt the religious feeling of the hindu people of the country. In social media, they posted a footage of themselves where they inappropriately splashing holy water at each other, in a sacred temple of Bali, Indonesia.
The citizens of the country condemned the couple for their crude actions believing it “disgusting” and “insulting to Indonesia.”
Fitness influencers Sabina Dolezalova and her boy friend Zdenek Slouka, can be seen in a video near the famous 15th century monument – Beji Temple in Ubud Monkey Forest. The clip that was shared in Instagram showed Dolezalova in a playful mood. While jumping and giggling she bends down, lifts up her skirt, and Slouka splashes holy water of the temple on her.
The couple have got around 80,000 followers in Instagram , according to Yahoo News. Particularly, the hindu locals of the country blasted the couple for their indecent behaviour in a sacred surrounding while others are demanding that they should be “blacklisted” from visiting Bali.
One of the Bali senators, Dr. Arya Wedakarna, reposted the video on her own Instagram account, condemning the duo and accusing them of “harassing,” the temple etiquettes.
Later, realizing their fault, the couple apologized, on social media that they were “so sorry about the video.”
Slouka said that they dishonored the holy temple and holy water in Ubud unknowingly. Expressing their regrets about what happened they apologized.
Accompanying him, Dolezalova added, “It was not intentional, we had no idea that was some holy water or that there is a holy temple so we really didn’t want to do anything bad. We are genuinely sorry and we hope you gonna forgive us. Right now we are just finding what we can do to fix it.”
‘Beji’ is a Balinese temple of pura located in Sangsit, Buleleng. The temple complex features elaboratedly carved sandstone buildings projecting Hindu folklore. The locals of Indonesia, especially the farmers, worship the God of this temple as they believe the spirit that resides in it is so said who looks after their rice paddies and irrigation.
So before stepping into any foreign tourist destination, it is highly necessary that we must collect a little information about the spot and thus can safeguard ourselves from such awkward situations.
