The Vice President and Ruler of Dubai,Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid has pledged that Dubai will deliver the greatest world expo in history when the international event lands in the Middle East for the first time next year.
Sheikh Mohammed offered his bold message after enjoying a tour of the under-construction site which will greet an expected 25 million visitors during a six-month extravaganza commencing on 20th October, 2020.
Arrangements are gathering momentum for the latest instalment of an international fair which has celebrated ingenuity and innovation for 168 years.
Sheikh Mohammed paid a visit to the site accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Co-operation.
“Pavilions representing 190 countries will be on full display when the event lands in the region for the first time,” the Vice President said.
“We are ready and remain true to our promise of presenting the best Expo edition in its 168-year-old history.”he added.
A glance of the huge expo site isn’t just for UAE royalty, either.
Residents can see the exciting venue take shape for themselves by jumping on board for free summer bus tours being held until the end of the month.
“The World’s Greatest Show in the Making” tours will take place every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, until August 31.
During the tour, visitors will get a chance to know about the history of the famed world fair, before arriving at the site in Dubai South. Once get into the site they will walk around the Expo 2020 Visitor Centre and receive a guided tour of the site and its structures.
